Parking
It is recommended that you park at the Winchester end of the course and then travel by bus to the beginning at Salisbury or Brougton. Parking in Broughton has been arranged but there are no arranged parking areas in Salisbury. Details are as follows:
Parking in Salisbury
Parking in the area of the Wyvern School is very limited. We will add instructions to this website shortly identifying and recommending the nearest public carparks. For a map of the general area click here.
Parking in Winchester
Please park at the South Winchester Park & Ride off Junction 11 of the M3 (not Junction 10). You will be bussed directly to the start from here. Location . A shuttle bus will be in operation between the Park & Ride carpark and Kings School. We hope to provide more details of the timings closer to the event.
Parking in Broughton
Please park in School Lane (link). on the north side of the village. Please do not attempt to park in the High Street or anywhere in the vicinity of the village hall. Please allow a 10 minute walk from the car park to the starting point which is located in the front of the village hall.
Relay Transistion Stations
Relay transition 1 - Middle Winterslow. Please park in sports field on the west side of the village. Look for signed areas. Beware of runners crossing road. Please avoid driving through the village of Winterslow, instead please enter and exit on the west side of the village and travel via the A30. There are no busses.
Relay transition 2 - Broughton Village Hall. See above for Broughton parking requirements.
Relay transition 3 - Farley Mount. Please note that Farley Mount has very limited car parking. Please take care to avoid any runners as the course crosses the road at this point. There are a number of car parks located beside the road to the east of Farley Mount. Please allow plenty of time to get to the relay transition point. There are no busses.
Timing
Electronic tags (timing chips) will be issued on the morning of the race. Please allow plenty of time to sign in and collect your tag before the race starts. Chips must be returned at the end of the race.
Marshalling and Route Markers
The Rotary Club and a large number of volunteers will be marshalling the whole course. The Radio Amateurs' Emergency Network (Raynet) will also be providing emergency communications. Please obey the marshalls at all times. In addition to marshalls, there will be direction indicator signs at all junctions.
The route does cross the road at a number of points. These points are all marshalled to reduce the likihood of any accidents but please look out for cars and only cross when it is safe to do so.
Due to the nature of the course, there will be no lead vehicle however there will be cyclists leading and following up in the rear.
Facilities/Changing/Baggage
Kings' School has excellent facilities at the finish - including showers! Please be aware, we have no control over the amount of hot water you use so it may run cold if people spend too much time showering. Please be as quick as you can.
All baggage will be transported from the start to the finish at Kings' School and will be placed in the sports hall for you to collect.
Transport
Transport is available to take competitors from Winchester to either Broughton or Salisbury before or after the event. Please make sure you indicate whether you need transport on your entry form, as we have to book coaches in advance.
Pre-race transport Please be at the new South Winchester Park & Ride Road NO LATER THAN 08:30 for the Marathon or 10:15 for the Half Marathon. This is located near junction 11 off the M3 (NOT junction 10). The coaches will leave from the Park & Ride at 08:45 for Salisbury and 10:30 for Broughton respectively. If you have NOT pre-booked please check for availability before you arrive.
Non pre-booked journeys If you have NOT pre-booked for a coach trip to Salisbury (£5) or Broughton (£5) before or after the race you may, subject to space being available, pay as you enter the coach for the pre-race journey, or at the registration points for the post race journey, the ticket for which should be presented to the marshall as you board the bus. Additional return transport subject to requirement may be available.
It is assumed that all relay teams will be arranging their own backup transport amoung their team members. Members of relay teams can, if necessary, use the buses to get from Winchester to Salisbury or Broughton but not from Winchester to Middle Winterslow or Farley Mount.

Conditions
All competitors must respect both the highway and country codes. In the event of any traffic and/or road restrictions, rights are reserved to alter the course of the route without notice. The organisers cannot therefore be held responsible if the distance is not exact, but assure all competitors that it will be as accurate as possible.
Prizes
There will be a goody bag for all finishers.
The prizes, of which there are many, will be awarded to the first female and first male in the following categories:
- 5-year age categories eg under 40, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 (full marathon)
- 10-year age categories (half marathon)
- First and second club team - 4 male or 3 female (half and full marathon)
- First, second and third relay team (mixed teams only)
- First, second and third male and female hashers (half and full marathon)
- First, second and third hash relay teams
- Plus special memento for to anyone who has completed 5 years' races
