Wintersloooow Runners:
Alison Malcolm, Donna Austin, Emma Wallace, Laura Hume.
Race time of 5:13:52.
In an attempt to coax myself back into running last year, friends and I decided to sign up for the Clarendon Relay. With the race passing through our pretty village of Winterslow there really was no excuse.
Henry at the Marathon des Sables, in the Sahara Desert
Henry ran the Clarendon last year in preparation for the Marathon des Sables in the Sahara Desert. Here is his story:
The Clarendon Marathon was obviously a marathon event but it also allowed runners to join as a team of four and run the race as a relay too. I'd signed up with three others from my running group (Hedge End Running Club). My leg was number 3 but was "only" 7.6 miles. This would be fine but in reality I needed more as I was marathon training. I also didn't want to run a mega long run the day before as I wanted a lie-in and had plans.
Marathon Start Line: Salisbury: 10.30am
Ben Pitman from Lordshill Road Runners in Southampton ran on the Clarendon in 2018. As it turned out he completed a perfect run over the full 26 miles and picked up the trophy for 1st male. His story is as follows:

Some of you may remember the photos of last year’s winning relay team from Andover Athletics Club – instead of the group of hardened veterans that you might have been expecting, they were a set of fresh-faced schoolboys with an average age of just 15.
A Seasoned Clarendon Veteran!
The slogan for the Clarendon Marathon has always been, “It's tough, but you'll love it!” and nobody would argue with that. But there's a clever way to make it a bit less “tough” and a lot more “lovable,” which is to split the distance four ways and enter a relay team. That's what the folks from our sponsor Chapman IP did in 2017 and this year they're getting ready for their return. You can read their story below:
